In general terms, people that planted are happy and they express that the quality of the corn was very good and some have returned corn from their crop, as many pounds as they received for the planting. It will be distributed to other families interested in participating in the Project of Corn; as it is the case of the Wood, Street The Kisses, Santa Eliza, The Marquises etc.
The corn is essentially a basic food stock for people in the rural areas and for this reason we should continue supporting the planting of this corn, and create a process to share strategies to improve production.
Our gratefulness to Self-Help International - Nicaragua, San Carlos, River San Juan, for donating 30 bags of 25 lbs of corn seed.
For this year, 2007, we request training for community leaders interested in the planting this improved corn, to improve the process of the planting caring for the corn to obtain better harvests. (Some Communities it was better than in others.)
Again our gratefulness to Self-Help International - Nicaragua, San Carlos, River San Juan, for donating the seed corn and helping to improve the quality and quantity of food in our communities.
Sincerely,
Leonor Guerrero C
