W/NP Summit
Summit 2006 brought the kind of energy that we've all been looking forward to achieving. Wisconsinites (34) traveled to Nicaragua, made
partnership visits, renewed and began new friendships, discovered new sights, shared ideas, discussed incountry visits, planned trips, traded skills, and much more.

All board members, Partner City groups, volunteers, and friends of the partnership from both Wisconsin and Nicaragua are invited to participate in the
W/NP Summit scheduled to take place from October 20 to 22 in Managua, Nicaragua. Further details, as well as an
Interest Form, are now available on the website.
Henry Gillis was a truly beloved member of W/NP who touched the hearts of all who met him. He left many with a great treasure of fond memories.
Additional Thoughts have been posted from those who hold on to something to share.

Events Calendar has witnessed additions and revisions. Also, now available online are the official
Chica Nica Doll Dresses website, photo slideshows for the
Learning Centers Mission and
Appleton Tour, James Cook's
Trip Report regarding Wild Fire Control and Training, and Cathy Peterson's article entitled
Kopecky Hosts Visitor From Nicaragua, which appeared in The Bee.

A memorial has been established through W/NP in the name of Henry Gillis, a wonderful volunteer who was recently lost to a tragic accident. Information on the
Henry Gillis Memorial is available on the website. Please visit the
Make A Donation page if you would like to make a gift in Henry's memory. Designate your contribution by utilizing the "Donation Tribute" field on the
Donation Form.
Also, the
Summer 2006 issue of the newsletter has been added to the website.

06/20/06: Website Updates
The
SODIS Method of water disinfection is a simple, low-cost technology that uses solar energy to destroy illness-causing microorganisms. Further details, along with
Project Reports, are now available on the website.
Another fresh addition to the website involves the
Health Care Travel Tour, which took place in April. The travel report as well as a photo slideshow are now available.
And finally, the
Potable Water project has been relocated to the
Agriculture/Natural Resources program while the
Events Calendar has witnessed additions and revisions.

Events Calendar has been revised.

The Meeting Notices page has been revised to detail the highlights and agenda of the W/NP Quarterly Meeting scheduled for June 24, 2006. Reservations are due by June 17; please use the Reservation Form to confirm your presence.
The May 12, 2006 issue of Latest Offerings has been added to the website. Other additions include the Vision Statement, Bylaws, Partners Symbol, Board Manual, Partner City Directory Maps, Poultry Project Reports, 2006 FTF Trip Reports, 2005 FTF Trip Reports, 2005 Eyeglasses Mission, Appleton Tour, and Site Map.
Many existing pages have received significant revisions as well, including the Events Calendar, Organizaton Overview, Statement Of Beliefs, Board Directory, Partner City Directory Contacts, Shipping Guidelines, Make A Donation page, Learning Centers Mission, Eyeglasses Mission, Staff Directory, Activity Chair Directory, Support Materials, and Related Links, while many more have witnessed edits.
Also, the Mission Statement has been relocated to the Organizaton Overview, the Committee Manual to Partner Cities, the Poultry Project and Kitchen Gardens to Agriculture/Natural Resources, and the Donation Form to Make A Donation.
And finally, the Chica Nica Doll Dresses catalog has been temporarily disabled while a new website for the project is designed. Similarly, the Site Search has been temporarily disabled while the website is undergoing heavy revisions.
