Take a break from the long Wisconsin winter with an
adventure that explores the unique biodiversity in our
Partner Country of Nicaragua. There are still a couple
spots available for the Eco Tour. See glowing lava in
the heart of the Masaya Volcano, soar through the
Mombacho Rain Forest by canopy tour, learn about how
sustainable coffee plantations operate, stroll through
nature reserves to see birds, butterflies, turtles,
alligators, monkeys, nutrias and frogs, as well as the
exotics flowers including bromeliads, helicons and
orchids.

learning about the history, topography, and geography of
Wisconsin's Partner country, Nicaragua. Through our

Tour highlights
· Meet with renowned international ecologist, Dr. Jaime Incer, and learn
about Nicaragua’s success in setting aside large tracts
of biological reserves of regional and international
significance.
· Overnight on the Archipelago of Solentiname and visit
world famous artisans working in their homes.
· Cruise in pongas (16-passenger motorboats) through
biological reserves along the southeastern shores of
Lake Nicaragua with our guide, Juan Carlos.

• Explore a tropical cloud forest ecosystem on the
dormant Mombacho volcano, 3,000 feet above Lake
Nicaragua.
• Take an evening hike around the peak of Mombacho

between 15 platforms. (optional)
• Visit a mountainside coffee plantation in the Selva
Negra cloud forest and see how it has been made more
sustainable with its natural environment...
