SEMI-ANNUAL FUND DRIVE
w/np > involvement

Your generous contributions to Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partners of the Americas, Inc. have helped sustain many of the people-to-people programs that we have carried out
during the past forty years. Your previous donations have exemplified the generous and giving nature of Wisconsinites. To continue our part in helping others, we are once again seeking your support to continue programs that address Nicaragua's critical needs.

W/NP has stood by its friends in the beautiful Central American country through four decades during which natural disasters and a civil war had made life more of a survival experience than wholesome living. Ask a volunteer from W/NP why they do what they do, and they'll probably say that it's because of the people. Nicaraguans reach out to W/NP volunteers through side-by-side efforts on community projects. Those of us who volunteer realize that we receive much more than we give.

Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partners of the Americas, Inc. plays a unique role in this developing country by maintaining a primary focus on the delivery of education and skills rather than material possessions. We are very proud of:
  • the eighty-five Learning Centers throughout Nicaragua where women learn skills that help them provide for their families;

  • our youth exchange programs that partner Wisconsin students with Nicaragua's next generation;

  • the variety of travel opportunities that allow Wisconsin volunteers to take their personal and professional skills to Nicaragua;

  • our agricultural programs that help farmers develop improved methods of caring for their land and livestock;

  • the Vitamin A distributions and Eyeglasses Missions that give the gift of sight;

  • the establishment of educational scholarships for secondary schools, technical schools, and universities.

We need your continued help to support these activities. As you know, recruiting volunteers, writing grants, responding to volunteers' requests, implementing scholarships, organizing travel opportunities, completing legal documentation, etc. require a dedicated staff who routinely perform in the overload zone. Although our 2005 audit is still in the process of being completed, we can provide a summary of the fiscal support that we received by way of more than $255,000 in monetary donations and nearly $2,000,000 worth of volunteer hours and in-kind donations.

We hope that you are able to feel the passion with which we make this appeal. Please make your tax-deductible contribution through the Make A Donation page. Thank you for your time, and we look forward to hearing from you. Mil gracias.
