Here is an opportunity for you to participate in one of the most exciting adventures of your life. The Learning Centers are an eye opening example of people working together to enhance the quality of life for those less fortunate. For the past 38 years, W/NP has been bringing together volunteers and citizens of both countries to create relationships, to work to find solutions to common problems, and to leverage international and local resources while providing technical training.
In 2003, nine Wisconsin women participated in the annual Learning Centers Workshop, which featured meetings and hands-on workshops with their Nicaraguan counterparts. Translation was provided, though it was often bypassed as enthusiastic women of both countries worked together sharing knowledge and skills. We anticipate the same degree of success and even stronger participation for 2004.
We invite you to become better acquainted with our partner country, Nicaragua. We have intimate knowledge of the country, its customs, and its people. We know the country well and, with our established network, can provide a secure, rewarding, and comfortable travel and workshop experience. We will provide a close-up view of some of Partners' activities featuring Women in Development projects and some of the very best that Nicaragua has to offer!
