Another Packing Bee For Nicaragua
Submission: Barbara Brotzman

On August 21, 2003, another packing bee was held at the home of Ginny Miller in Madison. Boxes were filled with material and sewing notions of all kinds to be sent to the Learning Centers of Nicaragua. When all was said and done, 22 large apple boxes had been packed. The boxes are now nestled safely in the W/NP warehouse in Stevens Point awaiting the next shipment to Nicaragua.

Joan Laurion, UW Extension, expressed amazement at the volume and variety of donated materials. What she saw reflected the generosity of the wonderful AAUW members who have so graciously donated the treasured goods. Since July of 2001, this AAUW group in Madison has packed and donated 84 boxes of sewing materials for the W/NP Learning Centers.

A Nifty Idea...
Spread good cheer and awareness of a valuable organization with the purchase of a W/NP golden holiday ornament. Each $4, Christmas tree-shaped ornament is 2½" wide by 3¼" high and has a tasteful imprint of the W/NP logo at its base. With this purchase, you give the gift that gives twice - once to the ornament recipient and again to a beneficiary of one of our programs in Nicaragua.
