These Graphic Design interns and volunteers have saved our organization thousands of dollars. W/NP would like to express its thanks to UWSP for its assistance and support as well as that of their talented interns and volunteers.
Kim Anderson
Kim interned with W/NP the entire 2002 - 2003 school year. She is a senior at UWSP graduating with a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts with a major in Graphic Design. Kim has been a great asset to our office and has produced several of our new brochures. Her design abilities are insightful and beautifully done. We are sorry to see Kim go because she added a lot of life to the office whenever she was there. Thank you, Kim, for all of your hard work and efforts on the part of W/NP. We know we will hear great things about you in the future!
Bridget Schultz
Bridget worked as a Graphic Design intern for W/NP last semester. She was responsible for designing the new letterhead and business cards for W/NP and the Cornerstone Project marketing tools. Bridget has also designed media pieces for UW Stevens Point dramas and has spent the last semester studying abroad in England. She has just graduated with a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts with a major in Graphic Design. Bridget is engaged and is planning to get married in 2004. We wish Bridget and Josh the best as they plan their future together. We will miss you!
Natalie Morrison
Natalie is a UWSP student volunteer. Those of you who were at our March Quarterly Meeting may remember her because she assisted at the registration table and wore one of the traditional Nicaraguan costumes. Natalie is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and is a 2003 graduate of UWSP with dual majors in French and International Studies as well as minors in Psychology and Political Science. She is an international traveler having spent one year studying in Paris, France and another semester in Munich, Germany. After graduation, she will be headed to Italy. Upon her return, she will be going to Granada, Nicaragua to study Spanish. She has been working in the W/NP office doing anything and everything possible. She has been a great asset to the organization and we certainly hate to see her leave, but we know there are great things in her future. Natalie plans to obtain a Masters Degree in International Development. Thank you, Natalie, for choosing to work with us. We wish you the best of luck in all that you do!
Laurie Germain
Laurie has been a Graphic Design intern for W/NP during the 2002 to 2003 school year. Laurie is a "non-traditional" student at UWSP, meaning that she is a wife, a mother, and a full-time student, and she holds a job. Laurie has produced several projects for W/NP, which we will use for years to come. Laurie is a 2003 graduate with a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts and a major in Graphic Design. She is currently working on a logo for a skateboard clothing line developed by her son. We have been very fortunate to have her as part of our team and we wish her the best as she uses her gifts and talents in the workplace.
Rick Campbell
Rick served W/NP as a Graphic Design intern during the spring semester of 2003. Rick has just completed graduation with a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts and a major in Graphic Design. He was responsible for designing the new Farmer to Farmer brochure which will be printed shortly. He also designed the covers for both our Partner City and Board of Directors Manuals. Rick was a welcomed addition to our primarily female staff. He and Andrew kept the women in line! Rick has great talent and we wish him the best as he pursues his new career. Thanks for all that you did for us!
Kelly McGrath
Kelly is another W/NP volunteer. She is a graduate of UWSP and works as a nanny to two young boys. Kelly has been a wonderful addition to the office and has done everything from researching data online and photocopying to assembling informational packets and day to day general office work. She is a joy to have around and we are so appreciative of the time and talent she brings to Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partners of the Americas, Inc. Thanks for all that you do, Kelly!
Gina Ramsey
Gina is another one of our "non-traditional" students. Gina is a wife, a mother of three, and a student and works in the Fine Arts Department at UWSP. Gina is graduating in the class of 2003 with a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts and a major in Graphic Design. Gina designed our Chica Nica Doll Dresses brochure and displays, working closely with Lynda Pracht. Gina is planning on taking a little time off to travel and relax and will then pursue employment in the graphic design field. Thanks for your time, energy, and friendship in the office. We wish you the best as you begin your new career!
Andrew Ohm
Andrew is better known in the W/NP office as our Web Weaver. He is a senior at UWSP majoring in Web and Digital Media Development. Andrew has been an integral part of the organization for four years as a work-study student keeping our website information current and our design competitive. Andrew's creative designs have won him accolades from many organizations, including our parent organization, Partners of the Americas, Inc. in Washington, D.C. Our website continually receives very positive comments about both its content and its design.
Most recently, Andrew has made our newsletter available on our website. Having this information available is most important when applying for grant funding. We are able to refer foundations to our website for current and past activities.
Andrew adds so much to the overall atmosphere in the office. His claim to fame is a recent appearance in the Pointer Poll, our on-campus newsletter. His trademark is a chain that jingles when he walks so he can never sneak up on us - we hear him coming! Andrew keeps us "old folks" up to date on the newest music and concert happenings. We want to take this opportunity to thank Andrew for his hard work. He is always available to lend a helping hand, carry boxes, edit newsletters, sing a song, or share a "dream" story. We are thankful that Andrew has chosen to stay with us! Life would be so dull without him!
