The plans are nearing completion for our 2004 Learning Centers Tour to Nicaragua. The tour dates are January 15 to January 25 and the cost will be approximately $1850, depending on ticket cost when booked. Tentatively, we will be traveling to the communities of Fe y Esperanza, Estelí, Somoto, Diriamba, Selva Negra, and Jinotega.
Several of the Learning Centers now have carpentry shops and are in need of training in furniture making, basic repairs, general woodworking, etc. This tour is open to both men and women and will include crafts, woodworking, sewing, smocking, and other activities as interested volunteers assemble. If you have any of these skills, please consider this travel opportunity!
This is a great tour and a great time to renew old friendships and make new ones. Working with the people of Nicaragua is an incredible experience and one that will indelibly mark your life.
