· Wisconsin Loses Long Time Friend
Dr. José Antonio Cantón, who served as the N/WC Executive Director for 38 years, died of a heart attack on Saturday, February 7 in León, Nicaragua.

Wisconsin/Nicaragua Partners of the Americas, Inc. recently purchased the building in Managua that it had previously rented.

W/NP uses two methods of transportation to send your donations to Nicaragua, the Funded Transportation Program and the Denton Program.
· Seeing Is Believing
Fifteen Wisconsinites traveled to Corn Island off of the Atlantic coast of Nicaragua on an eyeglass mission in March, 2004.
· Nicaragua Reads
Working in collaboration, W/NP and the Peace Corps in Nicaragua received a donation of over $276,000 worth of Spanish children's books from the SABRE Foundation.

This was my first trip to Nicaragua as well as my first with W/NP. I went prepared to teach; little did I know that I would learn so much.
