in flight On a plane right this moment

Two Youth Ambassadors from Nicaragua are currently in flight headed for Chicago this moment! They are on their way to Wisconsin to promote W/NP to the youth of the state.  To encourage, to youth specifically, that no matter who you are, you can make a difference. They will be sharing at schools around Wisconsin about our organization, and promoting the Bike/Hike event.  This is all possible through the Global Giving fundraiser we did and the Racine Dominican Mission Fund, thank you all for contributing! It truly does makes a difference.

preparing for a walk Saturday, October 24th
The Bike/Hike is set up for you "to do what works for you - so you can be a part of something great!" Throughout the month of October, you can track your miles on your own, as well as join in group events if you want.  This Saturday is the Fiesta Club and the Stevens Point Bike/Hike group event! Please join us at Schmeeckle Reserve, in front of the visitor center at 10:00 am.  We will be walking 1/1000 of the distance to Nicaragua (2.35 miles)  If you have already registered for the Bike/Hike just come wearing your shirt, if not, you can register at our office, or online, the $10 includes a shirt AND a chance to win a NEW bicycle.  Plus we'll be going to Emy J's after :-) email us for the map wnp@uwsp.edu

Keep in mind, this is a multi-national event, ALSO taking place throughout Nicaragua - check the Bike/Hike page for updates

Do you see your city on the map??  If not, please register today so you can be counted! We need your participation.

Tania and Jose Next Thursday at the Stevens Point Library...
Tania and Jose are currently in flight, it is amazing to believe that by next Thursday they will have spoken to youth throughout Appleton, Hortonville, at the junior high/and high school of Stevens Point, with the Lions Clubs, and Rotary Clubs, on the UW Campus, and possibly a few other places.  Their last Hoorah will be in the Pineries Room of the Stevens Point Library, 6:00pm Thursday October 29th.   The more people who can make it, the better our Wisconsin Welcome will be.  Invite your friends and let's not keep W/NP the best kept secret in Wisconsin anymore!

preparing for a walk Save $50 on the Learning Center Trek
The Learning Center Trek is approaching rapidly, February 1-10th, 2010.  The experience you'll gain from this journey is far worth it, and the friendships cultivated will last a lifetime!  Please remember that if you register before November 1st you save $50, not to mention the possibility of a better airfare and seat on the plane!
